This is a small show kennel where my dogs live in a home environment with myself, partner and my two children. Their health & happiness is the most important thing.
My kennel affix Masisca originates from my first dog Cassie and her son Sam's names. I wanted a name that would remind me of her and the good memories i have of her. (A faithful friend sadly missed).
Ever since I was a child I was brought up with various dogs. When I left home, my first dog was a Yorkshire Terrier called Cassie. I sadly lost her after eleven and half wonderful years in 2005. I still miss her terribly.
I still have her son Sam though (14 yrs old now). Not long after she passed away I decided to look into owning a rough collie.
Like most people I fell in love with ‘Lassie’ when I was a child, watching it on TV every week. My dream was to own Rough Collies, to breed and show them.
I bought my first Rough in 2006, Bailey (Starlenga Kangaroo Jack) from Gary & Margo Walker at Starlenga. I kept him as I pet as I didn’t have any interest in showing him till I went to a local show to watch, then the bug caught me and now am hooked. It was like my dream was starting to come true. Later on that year I decided to get another and later on that year I did. That was when Keira (Golden Occasion ) joined our family. We bought her from a lovely couple, Mr & Mrs Allison. When we picked her up, we met Keira’s mum who was a stunning Tri-colour, and that was when I decided that I wanted yet another to join our family, a tri boy.
While I took Bailey to his second show at the end of 2007, I met Loraine & Robert Hannah. They told me that day that their bitch was due to have puppies, so I kept in touch with them. We got Wica (Strobroy Prince of Darkness) in February 2008. Loraine & Robert have become very close friends to me. It was through Loraine & Robert that i got my next addition to my kennel, another tri-boy called Corey (Lochholm Black Jack), which we got on November 2008. Thanks Loraine & Robert for having faith in me and not forgetting Karen & Martin Pitman at Lochholm.
I enjoy showing whether I win or lose…
I still take the best dog home…..
My daughter Caitlin loves to come to the shows with me as she like to do Junior Handling, (7 yrs old).
I am hoping that one day I will breed and introduce my own breed line and when I’m too old that Caitlin will carry it on as she loves the dogs as much as me.
